We’re seeking a skilled and experienced estate planning drafting paralegal with a minimum of 2 years of drafting experience in a law office environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills and be able to work independently. Compensation: $47,000 - $65,000 depending on experience, knowledge and technical abilities. Trial period will be required.

• Draft estate planning documents to include wills, powers of attorney, revocable and irrevocable trusts, and various types of agreements as well as client correspondence.
• Draft documents necessary to facilitate trust funding and assist clients with trust funding questions and issues.
• Performs basic legal research.
• Communicate with clients.
• Maintain drafting statistics and suspense system.
• Maintain estate planning client files.
• Update and maintain estate planning templates, forms, checklists, and letters.
• Respond to general client inquiries regarding non-legal matter

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with quick turnaround times
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; associate’s degree is a plus

• Must have worked as an estate and trust drafting paralegal in a law firm for a minimum of 2 years.
• Good typing skills and proficiency with MS Office products and HotDocs. Knowledge of TABS3/PracticeMaster preferable but not required.
• Should have a general knowledge of the Virginia Uniform Trust Code.
• Must be able to work independently as well as with others.
• Must have excellent time-management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Must be a strong writer with excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills.
• Must be a detail person.
