MISSION

The mission of The PATH School is to provide a purpose-driven, culturally responsive learning environment that challenges scholars academically while supporting their social and emotional growth in order to develop conscientious citizens who transform their communities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field of expertise plus appropriate licensure (required); Master’s Degree (preferred)
  • 3 or more years of teaching with exemplary results
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills, and decision-making skills
  • Impeccable classroom and positive behavior management
  • Ability to adapt material and curriculum to fit classroom, scholar and teacher needs
  • Cooperation and professionalism in the workplace
  • Strong content knowledge: English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Physical education, Music, and/or Art
  • Punctuality, ability to adhere to deadlines
  • A deep passion for all children; a strong belief that all scholars can and will achieve at the highest levels regardless of demography
  • Alignment with The PATH School vision, mission, core beliefs and goals
  • Present and engaged during entire school day
  • Appropriate supervision to ensure scholar safety
  • Experience working with a diverse body of scholars and staff

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to stand for ⅔ of the work day
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to work in an environment with an above average level of noise
  • Some nights and weekends, as required

Essential Functions: 

  • Serves as an instructional leader on a PATH team
  • Ensures scholars’ academic needs are being met and supported 
  • Serves as instructional leader to teachers 
  • Models lessons in classrooms as needed 
  • Supports the instructional development of all teachers in understanding the curriculum, Indiana state standards, varied assessments, the Framework for Teaching, and data analysis.
  • Leads data analysis meetings, Weekly Data Meetings (WDMs) 
  • Builds strong relationships with scholars, families, teachers, administrators, and other PATH team members
  • Provides direction and coordination for how the curriculum is taught consistent with school initiatives and best instructional practices.
  • Assists teachers in understanding the PATH School mission and core beliefs.
  • Assist teachers with resources, materials, tools, and information to support classroom instruction and planning, including, but not limited to, new resources.
  • Supports teachers and administrators in using data to improve instruction.
  • Assists teachers with planning and pacing of lessons, the development of differentiated lessons, and the selection of best practices to meet the needs of their scholars.
  • Supports teachers by helping with the ―strategic “how” of teaching -- shares multiple instructional strategies/processes with teachers during planning time.
  • Observes lessons and provides feedback for teachers’ professional growth and scholars’ success.
  • Develops staff members’ knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors through a variety of professional development topics and designs.
  • Develops coaching plans for teachers to ensure scholar improvement.
  • Contributes to the development of systems and structures to improve teacher practice 
  • Submits a weekly coaching log and any pertinent data requests/coaching documentation.
  • Attends and leads summer training sessions
  • Leads professional development
