Painter Positions & Duties : Hiring All Painter Levels

Entry - Worker Bee - Level 1- No Experience Required

In this role no previous experience is required. The most important thing in this role is learn the basics of The Bee’s way. All we ask is for the worker bee to show up and do its duties. It doesn’t have to be beautiful…yet… but we need to see what you bring to the hive. 30 Day probation period where at the end of the period we will have a Performance review and determination of further opportunity.

Here are some of the things we will ask of our Worker Bees whether it is mindset , professional growth or physical duties that you will be responsible for in your role.

Skill Set Development aka Duties

  • Paint Training Videos-Sherwin- Before Arriving Day 1
  • Learn Paint Products & Names
  • Learn how to be safe on the job site, Ladder Placement, Gloves, Masks, Harnesses
  • Learn about respect on a jobsite, being clean, watching out for plants, caring for homeowners property
  • Learn how to pressure wash a home
  • Learn how to use a Masker with Tape, paper and plastic
  • Learn how use tape by hand where needed.
  • Learn how to use caulk gun, apply caulk, wipe with cloths for clean application
  • Learn how to scrape and prime using scraping tools, brushes & or rollers for primer
  • Learn how to cut/back brush with brushes and use rollers in different sizes, Areas such as Exterior Fascia, Window/Doors Frames, Shingles, Decks, Interior Trim, Doors, Cabinetry, Walls or Ceilings
  • Learn how to spackle/putty/bondo
  • Learn how to use sand paper properly and differences of grit
  • Learn how to texture interior drywall
  • Learn how to mask flooring for interior and exterior painting
  • Learn how to use small hand tools, screwdriver, drills, hammers, nail guns, sanding equipment, etc.
  • Learn the names of your tools/equipment
  • Learn the areas of the home: Siding, Soffits, Fascia, Window & Door Frames, Doors, Baseboards, Walls, Ceilings, etc.
  • Ability to pick up and placing ladders 50lbs or more
  • Ability to go up and down on ladders/ work up to 3 stories high with proper equipment
  • Ability to move furniture in a job site
  • Take responsibility for mistakes and fix them, touch ups
  • Maintain all equipment given to you clean at all times

-Worker Bee Level 2 - 6 months of prior experience required

In this role you either have a minimum of 6 months of professional painting doing the previously mentioned or have surpassed your 30 probation period as a level 1 painter. We ask you to have all the previous duties, expectations already ingrained and ready to be consistent. Consistency, Efficiency and Attention to Detail is what we ultimately evaluate at this position.

Skill Set Development aka Duties

  • Everything from level 1
  • Develop efficiency, consistency & greater attention to detail on all painting skills
  • Expect to be critiqued on results and driven to get better at eliminating mistakes.
  • This role is expected to be able to understand what tasks need to be taken care of and how to do them properly once Job Site Manager provides details

-Worker Bee Level 3 - 1Yr Prior Experience Required -

In this role you either have a minimum of 1yr doing everything from level 1 & 2 and the following or have been working as a level 2 painter for The Painting Bees for 6months-1year. We will start the introduction to paint spraying & leadership. This role is the right hand man to his Jobsite Manager Aka Drone Bee. Here are the following responsibilities:

  • EVERYTHING FROM Level 1 - Level 2 PLUS
  • Intro to spray: Learn how to use and clean pump, properly clean filters and tips
  • Secondary Sprayer to Siding,Soffits, Walls, Ceilings, Interior Trim
  • Primary sprayer to Interior/Exterior Man Doors and Exterior Garage Doors
  • Take initiative to help teammates meet standards
  • If asked, assist to communicate with client about about project details
  • Take initiative to assist job site manager In cleanliness and organization of work vehicle, job sites & equipment
  • Step in and guide the process of the jobsite if your Jobsite Manager is Unavailable

Job Site Manager AKA Drone Bee - 1YR of Painting Experience and 6 Months of Leadership experience -

In this role we require a minimum of 1yr doing all the previously mentioned duties and 6months minimum of leadership experience leading a crew/job-site. The person in this role is the crew leader. They are responsible for 2-3 painters in the crew. Job-site Manager works together with the Project Manager to complete the project on hand. Job-site manager will follow work orders and distribute directions to crew members daily until project completion while promoting positive work culture, consistent craftsmanship and delivering on our 5 star customer service satisfaction.

  • All of the duties previously mentioned In Level 1-3
  • Develops crew members skills
  • Integrated with DripJobs & other tracking systems we operate on excel or other platforms
  • Responsible for clocking In & Out the crew on job-sites
  • Leader of carrying out project tasks
  • Drives Company Vehicle
  • Has Company Phone
  • Maintains and organizes company vehicle
  • Maintain all aspects of job-site Etiquette
  • Understand work order and communicate with Project Manager daily and weekly to move through the process of each project.
  • Assign tasks diligently and accordingly to crew members
  • Primary Sprayer Siding, Soffit, Walls, Ceilings, Cabinetry, Interior Trim
  • Secondary Sprayer to Man & Garage Doors,
  • Maintain quality, consistency & order in place on Job site
  • Execute Pre final walk around prior to project managers final walk around with client
  • Pre start jobsite visit
  • Daily & Weekly touch points or meeting with Project Manager

Pay info

The Painting Bees has a comprehensive pay plan for our painters to be able to maximize their opportunity. What you ultimately put in will translate in your work & Pay. More information will be provided directly to candidates that are interviewed. Basic concept : Entry - Job site Manager can make anywhere from $18hr to $25hr depending on your role and experience. Bonus for beating “budget” are provided.

Be able to lift up 50-100lbs,

Reliable Transportation, Valid Drivers License
