The Oscar at Georgetown is Hiring an Assisted Living/Memory Care Coordinator Near Georgetown, TX

Assisted Living/Memory Care Coordinator sought for new senior living community. The Oscar at Georgetown is a new 231 apartment community with 175 Independent Living, 40 Assisted Living, and 16 Memory Care.

Opening a new community is an exciting and challenging time wherein the leadership team gets to build out their departments’ teams and be a part of setting the culture and standards that will make the community what it is. We are looking for an experienced Assisted Living/Memory Care Coordinator with a teamwork mentality to join us! If that sounds like you, we want to hear from you! This is a salaried role.

Job Description

Job Summary: The Assisted Living/Memory Care Coordinator is a licensed professional employee trained to supervise personal care and related services for the residents in the community.

Reports to: Wellness Director and/or Executive Director

Other job descriptions to include:

  • Certified Medication Assistant

Essential Functions and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ability to work with chemicals and cleaning agents.
  • Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, such as early morning, evenings, weekends, holidays, and ability to assist in emergency situations.
  • Ability to work on call as needed taking calls at different times throughout the week.
  • Ability to assist with the MOD (Manager on Duty) rotation.
  • Ability to maintain and execute a daily, weekly, monthly schedule for all care associate and medication assistants. This includes monitoring call outs and late associates.
  • Assisting the Wellness Director with managing the care of all residents within the community by ensuring all care plans are implemented as needed, including the communication of care to family members.
  • Direct supervisor to all medication aides and resident aides’ staff, including enforcing disciplinary action when needed as directed by Executive Director.
  • Filling in for care associates and medication assistants when needed as directed by the Wellness Director and/or Executive Director.
  • Managing medication cart in all buildings to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Monitoring care staff documentation to ensure compliance with state regulations and company policy.
  • Must display sincere interest in caring for the elderly.
  • Must possess and openness in maintaining a multi-disciplined team approach to caring for our residents.
  • Must be a team player and willing to have a positive working relationship with all associates.
  • Must be organized, assertive, demonstrate critical thinking skills and be an effective communicator.
  • Train and educate care staff monthly, including in services and situational training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Certified Medication Assistant or LPN with at least 2 years of experience in a long-term care setting.
  • CPR and first aid certified.
  • Direct Supervision preferred
  • Experience dispensing and monitoring medications on time.
  • Experience managing certified nursing assistants and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • This is a physically demanding job that could or does requires standing, moving, reaching, lifting, stretching, bending, and carrying things throughout the day.
  • Position requires providing activities of daily living assistance to seniors and requires lifting and transferring or residents as appropriate.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and/or pull 50lbs.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to read and write comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with residents, family members and other associates
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Ability judgment in emergency situations and seeks assistance when needed. Basic level of a skill and can follow written or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to at times work flexible hours, such as early morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to assist in emergency situations.
  • Ability to understand facility’s fire and disaster plans; follow established procedures during drills and actual emergencies.
  • Basic technical skills to complete a few repetitive and well-defined duties.
  • Basic knowledge of the organization in order to answer basic questions.
  • Basic knowledgeable of federal, state, and facility’s rules, regulations, policies and
  • procedures.
  • Follow defined safety codes while performing all duties.
  • Follow defined Infection Control procedures.

Required Attendance:

  • Attend scheduled department staff meetings.
  • Attend in-service educational programs.
  • Attend annual recertifications for state required license & certificates.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $31.25 per hour
