- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for patient care
- Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays)
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
- Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques
- Perform office management tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records
```Experience```
- Previous experience as a dental assistant preferred but not required
- Knowledge of medical documentation and terminology
- Familiarity with dental anatomy and procedures
- Proficiency in aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Ability to take accurate vital signs and record patient information
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
- Experience with medical imaging software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Knowledge of medical coding for insurance billing purposes
