The Orenda Center of Wellness is Hiring a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist - Transitional Housing Near Frederick, MD

The Orenda Center of Wellness is dedicated to providing comprehensive support and care to individuals on their journey to recovery. Our Transitional Housing Division is committed to creating a nurturing environment that fosters growth, healing, and a sense of community.

Position Overview:We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Peer Recovery Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting and assisting our transitional housing clients as they navigate through their treatment programs. The successful candidate will not be engaged in counseling but will focus on building peer-to-peer relationships and offering cooperative care alongside the treatment team.

Position Type: Full-time, Hourly
Salary Range: $18 - $21 per hour, based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with clients to support life skills development and case management.
  • Facilitate peer support groups and provide individual support.
  • Assist clients in the life-building process during their recovery.
  • Maintain strong ethical and professional boundaries.
  • Collaborate effectively with the treatment team to ensure holistic care.

Minimum Requirements:

  • GED or High School Diploma.
  • Clear background check and not currently on parole or probation.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug testing.
  • Active Certified Peer Recovery Specialist certification in Maryland.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in mental health, substance use, or the medical field.
  • Flexibility with hours and workload responsibilities.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work as a team player.
  • Passion for helping others and a commitment to compassionate care.
  • Basic computer and smartphone skills.
