Your Responsibilities:

The Assistant Produce Department Manager plays an important role in the day-to-day operations within the department, which provides valuable service to the community and its people.

  • Ensure Produce Department meets and exceeds all standards of customer service, satisfaction, presentation, and cleanliness
  • Monitor and control inventory levels by ordering products weekly; minimize over/under stocks, maximize in-stocks to develop sales, inventory turns, and return on investments
  • Provide proper staffing to meet daily business needs, including breaks and meal periods
  • Deal quickly and effectively with customer complaints, requests, and inquiries
  • Fully support and participate in all advertising campaigns and strategies as directed through Procurement and Marketing
  • Responsible for crisping, trimming, wrapping, and displaying produce in merchandise cases and on produce tables
  • Supervise, coach, and develop employees
  • Ensure that product is ordered according to planned timeliness and criteria
  • Build customer-attracting merchandise displays
  • Maintain equipment as directed by the manufacturer and facility maintenance

Skills and Qualifications:

We’re looking for professional, organized workers who have a healthy sense of adventure, strong knowledge, and an experience base.

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a team leader; retail experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster strong relationships and partnerships
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of the food supply industry and experience with managing supply chains
  • Ability to work with numbers and interpret financial reports
  • Computer knowledge of Excel and Outlook
  • Keen attention to detail and customer driven
  • Highly motivated with a passion to bring our communities products and services to live better
