This position is a Facilities position covered by a collective bargaining agreement between The New School and Local 32BJ, SEIU
Responsibilities:

• Supervises and instructs employees or vacation replacements in cleaning and housekeeping duties in a variety of different facilities;
• Assigns work to employees; inspects and reports areas cleaned;
• Coordinates schedule of assigned personnel;
• Instructs employees in proper cleaning techniques and safety practices; maintains compliance with applicable policies and procedures;
• Evaluates the performance of employees against established standards and counsels them on performance; recommends corrective or disciplinary action when necessary to Management;
• Identifies and reports Housekeeping items that need action;
• Recommends custodial supplies and equipment and issues supplies to staff;
• Inspects assigned areas; ensures that departmental/facility cleanliness standards are met;
• Keeps inventories of furnishings, supplies and equipment
• Maintains key security and provides keys to staff
• Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Four years of experience supervising others in a large-scale
• Housekeeping, Custodial or Janitorial program.
• Ability to adhere to University COVID-19 Policy and requirements.
