Summary: Directs and plans the preparation of reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings, based on past, present, and expected operations. Oversees the planning and execution of the annual budget for the Hartford City location.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Manage the financial reporting processes for the Mill.

• Complete a 4-day monthly close which includes reconciliation of all accounts.

• Establishes, or recommends to management, major economic objectives, policies and controls for the Mill

• Direct preparation of budgets, monthly forecasts and monitor compliance items

• Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies.

• Advise management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.

• Arrange for audits of company accounts.

• Direct financial planning, procurement, and investment of funds for organization.

• Work with Legal Resources and oversee the preparation and maintenance of vendor contracts

• Oversees weekly inventory of wastepaper at the mill

• Occasional travel required

• Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position supervises Exempt and Non-exempt individual contributors in Accounting and Secondary Fibers and may supervise other people managers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

Qualifications

Additional Requirements: Four year degree in a Finance-related field. CPA preferred. Must have a good understanding of the Mill Operations. Position reports directly to the Mill Manager with a strong dotted line to the Corporate Chief Financial Officer.
