The Nest Family Center is Hiring a Daycare Assistant Teacher Near Londonderry, NH

The Nest Family Center is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Teachers to join our childcare team. As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting the lead teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for young children. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of children during their formative years. No experience required!

Responsibilities:

  • Support Lead Teacher: Assist the lead teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum to foster the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children.
  • Supervision: Maintain a safe and secure environment for children by closely monitoring them during indoor and outdoor activities, meals, and rest times.
  • Assist with Lesson Planning: Collaborate with the lead teacher to plan and prepare engaging lesson plans and educational materials tailored to the individual needs and interests of the children.
  • Classroom Management: Assist in maintaining discipline and order within the classroom, promoting positive behavior and conflict resolution among children.
  • Individualized Support: Provide one-on-one support and guidance to children as needed, including assisting with personal hygiene, feeding, and encouraging independence.
  • Communication: Establish effective communication channels with parents/guardians to provide updates on children's progress, behavior, and any concerns.
  • Safety and Health: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation, hygiene practices, and emergency procedures.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and stay updated on best practices in early childhood education.
  • Maintain Cleanliness of the Center: Assistants will help close the center at the end of the day and may be responsible for vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing toys, and other cleaning duties.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting is desirable but not required.
  • Passion for working with children and a genuine interest in their growth and development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to maintain a positive and nurturing attitude in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work collaboratively as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Stamina to engage in active play and supervise children for extended periods.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check and obtain necessary certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid).

The Nest Family Center requires all staff to comply with the rules and regulations of the State of New Hampshire's Child Care Licensing Unit.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 27.5 per week
