The Neighborhood Center is seeking a high-energy Coordinator for The Community Hub.
The Community Hub is a traveling social program for low-income residents of Easton’s housing communities. The Community Hub currently operates at three locations in Easton- Downtown, West Ward, and South Side. While the Community Hub is open to all residents of these communities, it is primarily attended by seniors and those with disabilities.
The Coordinator will provide a program that promotes social interaction, community engagement, and healthy choices while also providing a safe and fun atmosphere for participants.
Participants in this program are primarily elderly, disabled, or experiencing some type of barrier to a healthy social life. The Community Hub works to help these individuals improve their lives through groups that provide camaraderie, meals, activities, and engagement in their local community (walks, trips, etc). The Coordinator will also be available to refer participants to assistance programs as applicable. A Case Manager is available to assist the Coordinator with more complex issues.
Coordinator Responsibilities:
Develop plans and curriculum for Community Hub meetings
Order necessary supplies within budget guidelines
Arrive onsite at each location and engage participants in a lively program
Heat and serve meals for participants
Work with participants on activities, exercises, games, etc
Assist participants with identifying barriers
Work with Case Manager to address unmet needs of participants
Track participation and enjoyment of participants
Demonstrate a willingness to make changes to best meet the needs of the groups
Demonstrate an ability to work with all populations, emphasis on elderly and disabled low-income populations
Coordinator Requirements:
High School diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license
Reliable transportation (this position requires traveling from office to one site per day)
Ability to navigate and use Google Suite
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
Ability to push/pull supply cart
This is a part-time position, Tuesday through Friday, 4 hours per day.
Pay Rate: $15/hour
