While Basketball Operations runs the league's on-court activities, other departments manage relationships with television and digital media partners, develop marketing partnerships with some of the world's most recognizable companies, oversee the licensing of WNBA merchandise, and handle a wide range of responsibilities that drive the WNBA's success.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, WNBA Business Development, this position will support the WNBA’s sponsorship sales efforts with the goal of growing the league’s partner roster, optimizing sales processes, and driving commercial opportunities through the sale of large-scale, integrated marketing partnerships and the creation of new platforms.
This is a temporary position with an expected duration not to exceed (8) months.

Major Responsibilities:

• Drive revenue for the WNBA by prospecting, developing, and selling integrated marketing partnerships that incorporate WNBA IP, media, events, and other benefits/opportunities
• Identify/qualify prospects and conduct outreach to senior-level marketing decision makers
• Maintain deep knowledge of sponsorship activity in priority categories and have a finger on the pulse of emerging categories
• Assist with developing and delivering customized presentations and proposals for prospects
• Work with cross-functional teams to support the development of customized WNBA marketing platforms (e.g., Media, Activation, Social Responsibility) that align with prospective partners’ objectives and serve as a WNBA subject matter expert across the organization
• Support the negotiation process for partnership agreements
• Optimize business development organizational processes by maintaining tracking documents and ensuring the timely creation of new sales materials
• In conjunction with WNBA leadership and other members of the business development team, develop and execute partnership sales strategies that lead to new marketing partnerships for the WNBA, including the continued growth of the WNBA Changemakers platform
• Build and support relationships within the sports marketing and agency world
• Stay up to date with industry trends and provide recommendations for new and creative commercial opportunities and assets that align with the WNBA’s growth strategy

Required Education/Professional Experience:

• 3–6 years of relevant experience in sales, business development, or partnerships at a league, team or agency
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Salary Range: $3,269.23 - $3,846.15/Biweekly
