Position Summary:

This position is part of the NBA Social & Digital Content team which focuses on identifying, creating, distributing and publishing content to the NBA's social and digital platforms and its many domestic and international partners throughout the world. As the demand for content on the NBA's social platforms continues to grow, this is your opportunity to grow with us in a fast-paced, innovative and collaborative environment, reaching social followers around the world. This is a project employee position.

The ideal candidate knows the latest trends and news about emerging media and the future of social content consumption. They spend time reading about or discussing the NBA on platforms like Reddit or Discord and are a part of growing communities on new platforms like Threads. This candidate has their finger on the pulse of the NBA and spends their free time immersing themselves in podcasts, message boards and consuming short and long form content about the NBA.

Major Responsibilities:

• Publish content by uploading video, still imagery or text-based posts with copy, tags and any additional publishing details to platforms that may include Reddit, Discord or upcoming emerging platforms. This may include publishing real-time content and scheduling content.

• Assist Social Content Lead with content planning around emerging platforms

• Assist with developing decks focused on emerging media-related projects

• Research trends related to emerging platforms and the future of social content consumption and share insights

• Ability to assist with similar publishing responsibilities on additional NBA social platforms when needed

Required Skills/Knowledge:

• Knowledge of the NBA at an expert level with a strong understanding of the storylines surroundings its players, coaches, teams, statistics, standings, history of the league and the league’s calendar of events. Watches and consumes NBA basketball content on a daily and nightly basis.

• Strong editorial background in basketball, basketball culture and other extensions of the game

• Good understanding of the NBA’s social voice

• Ability to work on deadline and handle multiple tasks at once with a precise and detail-oriented approach, as well as perform in a fast-paced environment while handling critical tasks

• Ability to execute detailed feedback

• Strong communication, organization and project management skills

• Must be a team player who can work collaboratively

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule as this position may include working days, nights, weekends and holidays based on the NBA calendar

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field preferred

Salary Range: $2,307.69/biweekly
