Position Overview
The National Park Foundation is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to implement and develop enterprise data management, business intelligence and reporting systems. This new position requires a highly motivated individual with expertise in data engineering, report design and delivery, data visualizations and system integrations using a variety of enterprise systems. Success in this role will depend on the candidates ability to operate as the IT team’s liaison across the organization, most notably finance, philanthropy, and grant-makers, in identifying data reporting requirements, designing customized reports, and identifying data integrations needed to support decision support in execution of NPF’s mission. Additionally, as this will be a new role, the individual will have an opportunity to shape how data is used and incorporated into the overall success of the mission.
Position Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain metrics, reports, and dashboards for internal and external use.
- Build data pipelines from multiple data sources by performing necessary ETL tasks including processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
- Collaborate with technology and other functional units to automate existing reporting processes.
- Develop and manage report request processes and manage major report implementation projects collaboratively with IT and other teams.
- Serve as a thought-leader with an emphasis on innovation in finding new ways to optimize and expand the foundations reporting capabilities.
- Work with departmental functional area leaders to establish KPI monitoring and identify opportunities for improvement including system integrations that improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Complete ad-hoc data reports and analysis requests to support projects and key decisions as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, potentially master’s degree
- 5-8 years of experience.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and comfort in ambiguity.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent collaboration skills and team oriented approach a must.
- Must have ETL experience with various tools (SSIS, Dell Boomi).
- Solid SQL skills using Microsoft SQL Server or similar.
- Experience working with any modern data-warehouses such as Snowflake, Microsoft Azure SQL Server, AWS Redshift. (Design, development, and maintenance).
- Experience with Business Intelligence Reporting Tools (PowerBi, Tableau, looker).
- Ability to build out dashboards.
- Experience with NetSuite Suite Analytics Connect.
- ML and data science analytics experience in finance, marketing, or strategy.
- Knowledge and prior experience with financial reporting and non-profit organizational experience, helpful.
Location
Our national headquarters in Washington, DC operates in a hybrid work environment. Remote work will be considered for the role.
