Position Overview: The Motz Group’s Turf Care Technician is responsible for honoring warranty commitments, and other miscellaneous track and field care and construction services. The Service Technician will take a personalized approach through (service/relationships) to get to know field owners and demonstrate that “Thinking As An Owner” is not just a core value, but it is our shared connection with our clients and motivates us to provide remarkable customer service time and time again.
Key Activities:
- Performs routine maintenance of a synthetic turf field and running tracks which includes but is not limited to: Track and Field Cleaning, Track and Field Evaluation, Track and Field Testing, Equipment Operation, and the hand delivery of reports for Field Owners
- Completes warranty services per the contract
- Completes repair services for fields
- Maintain strong relationships with current field owners by providing remarkable customer service
- Responsibility for care and maintenance of equipment
- Develops the knowledge, skills and abilities to assist with providing Maintenance Training for newly installed fields
- Assists with maintaining appropriate inventory levels to ensure maintenance, warranty and repairs can be completed in a timely manner
- Operates as a part of a safe team environment of mutual respect and dedication to customer service and uncompromised quality
- Conduct tool box and jobsite safety meetings
- Promote The Motz Group Core Values in all interactions (internal and external)
Skills Required:
- Strong desire to learn and grow personally and professionally
- Demonstrates a strong attention to detail and a sense of urgency
- Ability to work independently on occasion and as a part of a team
- Ability to work with Turf Care Expert to gain the experience and knowledge needed to evaluate a field’s safety and performance properly
- Strong verbal communication skills; articulate; ability to ask for help when needed and speak professionally both inside and outside of the organization
- Ability to learn new service software
- Overnight travel
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in maintenance or construction or installation
- Need to have personal vehicle and qualify to obtain DOT certification and acquire skills to drive with an enclosed trailer
Environment/Physical:
- Must lift or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds
- Frequently required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Frequently exposed to fumes, dust, vibrations and will get “hands dirty”
- Occasionally exposed to extreme weather conditions at job sites
- Work demands may require irregular work schedules, long hours, weekends, etc.
- Overnight travel and travel out of state required
