Job Description
Moorings Park is looking for a Physical Therapist Assistant. The licensed Physical Therapist Assistant provides physical therapy services to residents under the supervision of the Physical Therapist. He/she carries out the treatment plan delineated by the PT, assists the PT in resident treatment and carries out departmental duties as assigned. The P.T.A. shall not evaluate residents nor can he/she initiate any changes in a resident’s program unless specifically directed to do so by the PT. P.T.A.’s may perform screenings at the discretion of the supervising PT.
Contributions:
- Provides resident treatments as specified by the PT in the treatment plan. Assist the PT in the provision of direct resident treatment.
- Complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner.
- Communicate with physicians, families, and rehabilitation staff members regarding resident status reports as appropriate.
- Assist the PT in the scheduling of residents and other clerical duties.
- Substitute for absent therapists according to the discretion of the PT director.
- Participate in supervision of Physical Therapy aides and volunteers.
- Performs rehabilitation screenings at the discretion of the PT.
- Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.
- Obtain knowledge and demonstrate the principles of Moorings Park, person directed care and successful aging philosophies and their inherent core values of commitment, respect, compassion, dedication, teamwork, and quality. Team member will support, actively participate, and act in accordance with the principles of the Moorings Park service culture and be familiar with and fluent in the language and service pillars of Moorings.
Job Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language required
- During emergencies or natural disasters may be required to be on duty for the duration of the disaster.
- Graduate of an accredited school for Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Current registration with the American Physical Therapy Association; Meet CEU and HIV licensure requirements.
- CPR certification optional.
