Position Summary:
The Middlesex Health Emergency Department located in Middletown, CT proudly serves the Middlesex County residents and averages 3,400 patients per month. Our team consists of Board Certified Emergency physicians and highly competent, compassionate ED staff who endeavor to provide the highest quality care to all those we serve.
We are actively recruiting for a compassionate, collaborative and experienced nurse manager to efficiently and effectively oversee a 36 bed state of the art Emergency Department. The Nurse Manager is responsible for assisting the Director with the overall responsibilities of the Emergency Department in accordance with established nursing standards, philosophy and Middlesex Health's Mission and Vision. The Nurse Manager serves as a vital link between management, physicians and the clinical staff as well as strives to achieve efficient, safe and cost effective patient care.
The Nurse Manager helps to achieve positive customer service & employee engagement scores by rounding on patients and staff, modeling high standards of customer service with the expectation of excellent clinical and customer service skills.
Minimum qualifications:
- A Registered Nurse who is a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and is currently licensed to practice in the state of Connecticut
- Master’s Degree (initiated within 1 year, completed within 3 years)
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Nursing
- Three to five years experience as a registered nurse in the ED setting
Preferred qualifications:
- Masters in Nursing
- Professional certification: ANCC Nurse Executive or AONL Nurse Leader (within 2 years hire)
- Two years of experience in healthcare leadership role(s)
