The Merion Cricket Club is Hiring a Pool Operations Manager Near Haverford, PA

** This position can be either a seasonal full-time position (mid-April through October) or permanent full-time position. **

The Merion Cricket Club opened a state-of-the-art pool with resort-style amenities in the spring of 2020. This family-centric facility is the centerpiece of a multi-year $25MM Campus Expansion Plan.

The Merion Cricket Club pool is one of the many focal points of the Club over the summer season and a place where families and friends can relax, swim and enjoy outstanding dining. The pool is heated, providing more comfort during the early spring, and allowing us to extend the swim season from early May through weekends in the fall.

We are seeking a Pool Manager to oversee and supervise this aquatics facility and enhance the members’ experience with daily aquatic related activities including lap swim, aquatic fitness and daily family swim and events. We would like to make coming to the pool an experience for each member that rivals the finest of resort pools. Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting, training, and supervising qualified lifeguard staff ensuring safety as the number one priority
  • Providing exceptional service and programs for the membership
  • Planning and managing the Club’s pool and events throughout the summer
  • Maintaining equipment and ensuring chemical levels are safe
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the pool deck

Reports to:

  • This position reports directly to the Assistant General Manager.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Two years (2) experience in managing a pool or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Certified Pool Operator and possessing current Lifeguard certification are a requirement.
  • Must possess CPR, ADP, and First Aid certification / training. Must be familiar with Federal and State requirements and guidelines pertaining to pool management.
  • Highly skilled swimmer and excellent communication skills
  • Full Time Position or Exempt/Seasonal Position

The pool opens April 1st and closes October 31st. The Pool Manager must be available afternoons and weekends beginning mid-April to prepare the operation for the season and as required in October to winterize.
