The MediMatrix Group is Hiring a Medical Biller Near Astoria, NY

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. The Medical Biller will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures, ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance companies, and maintaining patient records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing processes, coding systems, and medical terminology.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify patient and insurance information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and submit claims for DME equipment to insurance companies and carriers.
  • Follow up on outstanding claims and denials to ensure timely resolution.
  • Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to resolve billing issues and inquiries.
  • Stay up-to-date on billing regulations and coding changes relevant to DME billing.
  • Reconcile payments received with billed amounts and identify any discrepancies.
  • Generate reports and analyze billing data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other team members to streamline billing processes and optimize reimbursement.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in medical billing and coding preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical billing, with specific experience in DME billing highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Knowledge of medical coding principles, including CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes.
  • Familiarity with medical office procedures and medical records management.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with insurance procedures and regulations governing DME billing.
