Job Opening: Pharmacy Technician

Worksite Location: 1101 Parkway View Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205

Status: Full-time

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday shifts, 1:30pm-10:00pm and Saturday shifts as needed.

As a Pharmacy Technician you will be accountable for filling prescriptions accurately and efficiently. Typical responsibilities associated with this position are:

• Assists in preparing prescriptions by selecting the pharmaceutical or accessory from stock; counts, pours, reconstitutes or compounds, packages, and labels the product as required
• Operating and maintaining the Automated Pharmacy System (APS) and Unit-Dose Systems
• Programming APS machine to dispense medications in accordance with given prescriptions for review by Pharmacist
• Loading and maintaining APS machine with appropriate medications, packaging material, and printing supplies
• Help troubleshoot technical issues related to APS operation
• Maintaining/replenishing inventory of medications, accessories, and federally controlled drugs

In addition to being thorough, attentive to detail, communicates effectively, and highly accurate the successful candidate for this position must also have the following qualifications:

• Previous pharmacy technician experience or related schooling a plus, but not required
• Data Entry experience in a pharmacy setting a plus but not required
• Basic computer skills

Prior to beginning work, successful applicants must complete a background check consisting of criminal records check, Medicare/Medicaid exclusions check, employment verification, education verification, drug test, licensure/certification verification, and DMV motor vehicle record check, as applicable.
