Seeking a part-time Custodian for general school custodial work. Five days a week, Monday through Friday, for approximately 5 hours a night, from 4:00PM - 9:00PM. Pay is $20 per hour with the possibility to earn more after two months of proven work.

As school custodian, your responsibilities include ensuring the common areas, offices, and classrooms are clean. You also maintain the cleaning equipment and ensure everything needed for cleaning the school is stocked and ready.

Custodian Daily Duties and Responsibilities

• Keeps the building and property in clean and orderly condition.
• Performs heavy cleaning duties.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, vacuums floors.
• Gathers and empties trash.
• Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.
• Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment.
• Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
• Notifies manager regarding the need for repairs, additions to building operating systems or safety issues.Custodian Qualifications / Skills:
• Demonstrated ability and knowledge in the use of all materials, methods, implements and devices used in cleaning operations.
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours
• Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time
• Experience with using cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules
• Good communication skills
• Ability to lift heavy objects up to 80 lbs, climb ladders and work at particular heights

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of six month's experience performing janitorial and related custodial work, including some experience in semi-skilled building maintenance activities.
• Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle license to drive in the State of Connecticut.
