The Mason Family (Hamaspik of Kings County) is Hiring a Live-in Caregiver Near Brooklyn, NY

DSP (Direct Support Professionals and Direct Care Workers) and other CAREGIVERS needed urgently to work with Children and Teens with autism, developmental disabilities and physical disabilities inside of their homes and in the community.

***Hamaspik of Kings County OPWDD Self Direction Cases***

JOB PAY AND SCHEDULE:

$18/hour AND 40 hours per week

Sunday 9am-7pm (12 hour shift)

Monday 3pm-9pm (6 hour shift)

Tuesday 3pm-8pm (5 hour shift)

Wednesday OFF

Thursday 3pm-8pm (5 hour shift)

Friday OFF

Saturday 9am-9pm (12 hour shift)

LOCATION: Brooklyn, NY (Inside Clients Home)

JOB DUTIES:

  • Working with special needs and disabled children and teens with autism and other developmental, physical and mental health disabilities
  • Job is performed in the client's home and in the community at recreational places such as the playground, amusement parks, pools, indoor place spaces, restaurants, shopping stores and more
  • Babysitting the child inside and outside of the home, preparing light meals and snacks, administering medication, giving baths, changing diapers, engaging in positive play skills, reading and providing companionship
  • Working on goals inside and outside of the home such as independence skills, behavior management and positive communication and social skills with peers

REQUIREMENTS:

*Must have at least 1 year of VERIFIABLE experience caring for special needs or disabled children or adults (either professionally or personally)

*Must be flexible, open and available for last minute schedule changes and on call hours

*Must be willing to work 12 hour shift on weekends straight through with minimal breaks (children cannot be left alone)

*Must be able to work one full weekend a month from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon (either in the clients home or your home)

*Must be able to work during ALL school holidays EXCEPT Easter Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day (advance notice will be given)
