The Marek Group is Hiring a Direct Mail Data Specialist Near Waukesha, WI

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
While working under the direction of the Direct Mail Supervisor, the Direct Mail Data Specialist has overall responsibility for performing all tasks and elements of work in the operation functions of the Direct Mail Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary.
  • Use and operate PACE ERP system.
  • Analyze client supplied data mailing lists for quality and compliance to United States Postal Service (USPS) and international addressing standards.
  • Append data, as necessary, to meet these standards.
  • Import, merge, purge, dedupe and/or suppress lists to obtain final mailing counts, based on clients’ specifications.
  • Provide final data and other resources, per client’s requests.
  • Prepare final data lists for USPS presort, International Mail and/or Variable Data imaging.
  • Setup files for addressing on high speed inkjetters.
  • Work with other Data Processing/Variable Data team members to improve processes and provide feedback to the Data Processing manager.
  • Assist Customer Service and Sales with Direct Mail related questions, as well as provide postal regulation knowledge and expertise.
  • Continue to expand professional knowledge through webinars, courses and other technical resources.
  • Stay current with all relevant postal regulations required for execution of job specifications.
  • Acts as liaison between USPS, client and plant.
  • Print sign-offs as needed to ensure Postal Regulation compliance.
  • Coordinate drop-ships with the Shipping Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate of Arts Degree in Graphic Communications or related program and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Mail Data Processing in a commercial printing environment; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Required Experience:
  • Knowledge of USPS Direct Mail specifications and requirements.
  • Understanding of Variable Data, Digital and Commercial offset printing processes.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel and data list file formats.
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational ability

TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGY
Ability to use Adobe Acrobat
Ability to use Microsoft suite of products.
Knowledge of mail data software. Proficiency with BCC MailManager 2010 or Full-Service.
