Job Summary:
The Assistant Food and Beverage Director will primarily focus on the restaurant operations within The Madison Hotel. Reporting to the Food and Beverage Director, this position will actively contribute to the success of our dining establishments while also demonstrating a willingness to learn and support the hotel side of our business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in restaurant management, exceptional leadership skills, and a dedication to delivering top-notch guest experiences.
Responsibilities:
  • Restaurant Management:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of both hotel restaurants, ensuring exceptional service and guest satisfaction.
    • Develop and implement restaurant policies, procedures, and standards to maintain quality and consistency.
    • Lead and mentor restaurant staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting continuous growth and development.
  • Guest Experience:
    • Maintain a strong focus on providing a superior guest experience, responding promptly to guest feedback and concerns.
    • Work closely with the culinary team to ensure the quality and presentation of food and beverages meet or exceed guest expectations.
  • Financial Management:
    • Assist in budget development and financial planning for the Food and Beverage department.
    • Monitor and control expenses, revenue, and profitability within the restaurant operations.
  • Training and Development:
    • Collaborate with the Gm and AGM to create training programs for restaurant staff.
    • Facilitate training sessions and workshops to enhance staff skills and product knowledge.
  • Hotel Support:
    • Be open to learning and participating in hotel-side operations, including banquets, room service, and special events, as needed.
    • Assist in cross-departmental initiatives to enhance the overall guest experience within The Madison Hotel Morristown, NJ.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of progressive restaurant management experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Micros and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn and adapt to the hotel sector.
  • Outstanding customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus
