LCMS Missionary Orientation – Children’s Program

LCMS Missionary Winter Orientation is coming up at the International Center in St. Louis, Missouri and God has blessed us with a number of new missionary families! While the parents receive their orientation to prepare them for life as an LCMS Missionary, an age-appropriate orientation for the children is critical to a successful deployment. Below are positions available to provide this care for these new missionary families!

Activity Coordinator:

Each day we will have a variety of activities or outings to help build a sense of community and identity within the missionary children group. We are looking for a coordinator to line up logistics, make reservations, oversee purchase of supplies, and create conditions for a smooth execution of the activities. This person will coordinate with the lead teachers, missionary services, and ministry support. They will also serve as a floater to help in classrooms.

Day Care Lead Teacher:

The lead day care teacher will care for missionary children who are younger than 3 1/2. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment, helping with meals and snacks, and helping children keep good hygiene, and ensuring children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtime. Additionally, the lead teacher will provide direction and oversight of assistants.

Day Care Assistant

The day care assistant will support the lead teacher in caring for missionary children who are younger than 3 1/2. This will include support of maintaining a safe environment, assisting with meals and snacks, and helping children keep good hygiene, in addition to supporting activities that promote children’s physical activity, rest, and playtime.

Middle School and Elementary Assistant Teachers

The middle school and elementary school assistant teachers will support the lead teacher with activities and chaperone during excursions. They will engage the children and serve as role models.

Missionary Orientation Dates:

January 29 – February 2

7:30 – 5:30 (morning and afternoon shifts available)

Pay:

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
