The Lubrizol Corporation is Hiring a Plant Controller Near Painesville, OH

Lubrizol's Operations Finance team has an immediate need for a Plant Controller, based in Painesville, Ohio.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for monthly financial closing and reporting for Painesville in compliance with GAAP and company policies
  • Review and analyze production variances, purchase price variances and inventory adjustments on a monthly basis
  • Reporting and communicating key plant financials and performance metrics through public reports and personal communication
  • Lead the annual operating expense budget process and complete forecasting requirements, establish annual labor and overhead rates, and assist with the annual capital budgeting process
  • Ensure that internal controls and measures on spending, production, working capital, and fixed assets are in place, and functioning appropriately while safeguarding company assets
  • Ensure compliance with internal control checklists and Sarbanes Oxley requirements
  • Inventory reporting and control, cycle counting and annual physical inventory
  • Accurately calculate inventory costs by conducting routine review and analysis of standard costs, including the costing of new products throughout the month
  • Create and maintain production recipes for the Painesville plant
  • Evaluate inventory for Non-Working Slow Moving (NWSM) or otherwise impaired material for adequacy of reserve balances
  • Function as capital project administrator, ensuring that proposed capital projects include all appropriate documentation as to justification, classification of capital vs. expense, asset write-offs, and MIRR calculations where required
  • Collaborating with plant manager and plant/project engineers
  • Support sales and marketing by completing ad-hoc product cost estimates for new products and various plant loading scenarios
  • Providing additional ad-hoc projects and analysis as required
  • Assist in the improvement of SAP reporting and new measurement criteria leading to improved decision processes and overall improvement of plant performance
  • Ability to frequently travel (a few times a month as needed) to the Painesville plant in order to provide support and meet with management
  • Participate in 3rd party audits as required by the Global Supply Chain team

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or other business related field(Accounting degree preferred)
  • 7 years’ experience in manufacturing accounting and/or varied financial/analytical accounting positions
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and change management skills
  • Proven self-starter with a desire to achieve; strong team focus
  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to work with a broad range of internal customers ranging from plant management, plant engineering and production operators

What will put you ahead:

  • CPA and/or MBA or equivalent
  • Familiarity with absorption accounting
  • Experience using SAP in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a variety of financial software packages, especially Excel, SAP, Analysis for Microsoft Excel (SAP add-in)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $115,000.00 per year
