QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School education and CNA/ NAR or HHA Certificate preferred.
  • Previous experience in working as a caregiver with older adults with physical or mental health needs preferred.
  • Must live out company’s values and maintain values score of 4 .
  • Must be able to pass a criminal and/or abuse background check,and drug screening.
  • TMA Certificate helpful
  • ServSafe Food Handler certification helpful
  • Must be employed with The Lodges for 6 months.
  • Must complete Lodges Leadership Academy Courses.
  • 5 of 6 sessions are required to graduate
  • Missing session must be completed within 6 months
  • Must successfully complete all assigned course pre-work and post-work.
  • Must participate in ongoing quarterly Mentor Functional Workgroups – 3 of 4 annually

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND TASKS:

Job Function: Medication Administration
Tasks:

  • Administer medications and give reminders to residents as required according to the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and as delegated by the RN Supervisor.
  • Follow policy for administrating medications PRN standing orders.
  • Follow policy and procedure for narcotic administration and documentation.
  • Follow policy and procedure for medication administration when a resident is leaving the building.
  • Follows policy and procedures when receiving new or changed medication orders.
  • Reorder medications and supplies weekly, or as needed.
  • Understand standard precautions used for infection control and adhere to them.
  • Other medication administration duties as assigned by RN Supervisor.

Job Function: Provide personal and direct care to residents.
Tasks:

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living as indicated on their individual service agreement (including, but not limited to dressing, showering, grooming, toilet assistance and escorting).
  • Assist residents with daily room order and light housekeeping.
  • Assist residents with personal laundry duties, which may include ironing.
  • Maintain a clean and healthy environment.
  • Promote independence, not dependence, with residents, offering choices and fostering self-help skills.
  • Perform routine procedures as delegated by the RN Supervisor.

Job Function: Documenting and reporting
Tasks:

  • Document any changes in resident’s condition in the resident chart and communication log. Report these changes to the RN Supervisor.
  • Completes incident reports according to policy.
  • Reports to RN Supervisor any medication changes or any PRN medications that have been administered to a resident.
  • Understands procedures regarding home care tasks and charting procedures when performing these tasks.
  • Recognizing abnormal signs and symptoms, or changes in resident’s condition.
  • Documenting duties completed with residents on the service delivery record during each shift.

Job Function: Complete essential paperwork
Tasks:

  • Filing papers in residents’ charts as needed.
  • Documenting all medications given in the resident’s Medication Administration Record (MAR) during every medication pass.
  • Reviewing all new resident care plan/service record and changes in current resident’s care plan, daily.
  • Checking outgoing US mailbox, collecting US mail delivered and distributing US mail and in-house mail to the residents.
  • Other documentation as assigned and/ or needed.

Job Function: Knowledge and compliance with state regulations
Tasks:

  • Understand and adhere to the Vulnerable Adult and abuse policy, Bill of Rights and HIPPA.
  • Works to assure facility is following federal, state and local standards and regulations.
  • Complete a minimum of eight (8) hours of documented training annually.
  • Be up to date with completing Mantoux tests and chest x-rays.

Job Function: Activity Programming
Tasks:

  • Encourage, gather and/ or escort residents to participate in scheduled activity programs.
  • Lead activity programs as assigned.
  • Socialize with residents and incorporate new ideas and resident suggestions into programming.

Job Function: Participate and function effectively as a team member.
Tasks:

  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with other Unlicensed Personnel, Nursing staff, and all other Lodges’ staff.
  • Provide back-up to other staff as needed to ensure 24 hours staffing.
  • Communicate information regarding resident care needs and changes to the team.
  • Provide proactive and constructive participation in staff meetings.
  • Be compassionate and work with tact and ethical awareness.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to changing situations.
  • Responds appropriately to safety hazards, fire, weather, or emergency situations.
  • Follow through promptly on requested duties.
  • Assist with meal preparation, serving, feeding, and clean up.
  • Provide on-the-job training for new associates.
  • Must be mature and emotionally stable using a calm and kind tone of voice.
  • The ability to remain calm in difficult or unusual circumstances.

Job Function: Mentorship
Tasks:

  • Complete required Leadership Academy training courses and ongoing trainings/meetings including pre and post coursework as assigned.
  • Hosting introductory experience(s) that make mentee(s) feel welcomed and appreciated.
  • Provide guidance, advice, feedback, and support to the assigned mentee(s) on procedures.
  • Provide mentees with all tools to be able to become a better version of themselves.
  • Identify development opportunities for mentees, and regularly provide feedback to the Manager.
  • Encourage participation in mentor-mentee bonding initiatives to facilitate mentee’s social orientation and engagement.
  • Supporting mentorship during personal and professional challenges
  • Lodges Culture champion to mentee(s)
  • Other mentor duties as assigned.

Job Function: Lead responsibilities
Tasks:

  • Must be responsible for:
  • Staffing/Scheduling Management
  • Create and post the schedule for designated location within budgetary guidelines.
  • Problem solves staffing situations.
  • Foreshadow future staffing levels dependent upon census or extensive resident leave of absence.
  • Manage staff overtime within company guidelines.
  • Manage time off including PTO per company guidelines.
  • Support Operations to ensure that all call-ins and tardiness are documented.

JOB SUMMARY:
This Staffer/Scheduler lead caregiver position is a positive, culture champion that is responsible for providing personal care and designated health-related services designed to maintain the resident’s physical and emotional well-being for those residents living at The Lodges Company. This position assists residents with tasks of daily living as indicated on the Service Agreement, the Medication Administration Record (MAR), and other services as delegated by the RN. This position is responsible for welcoming, orienting, supporting, and engaging mentees. This position is also accountable for leading and assisting with special projects and responsibilities related to Staffing and Scheduling other caregivers for the community.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
