The Levy Company is Hiring a Foundation Drill Operator Near Selma, TX

Minimum starting $25.00 plus, per hour, depending on qualifications. 50 plus hours per week!

We are seeking an experienced Foundation Drill Operator to be based out of the San Antonio, TX area to operate a construction drill truck and equipment to assist in construction projects.

Essential Functions may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Select and attach augers, changing augers as needed.
  2. Perform routine maintenance and upgrade work on machines and equipment, such as replacing parts, building up augers, and lubricating machinery.
  3. Operate controls to stabilize machines and to position and align drills.
  4. Regulate air pressure, rotary speed, and downward pressure, according to the type of rock or concrete being drilled.
  5. Operate machines to remove earth cuttings from holes.
  6. Assemble and position machines, augers, casing pipes, and other equipment, using hand and power tools.
  7. Perform routine safety, maintenance, and servicing inspections and reports.

Required Qualifications:

  1. At least three years’ experience with drill rigs with additional experience operating other types of heavy equipment.
  2. At least one-year experience with construction drilling.
  3. Experience with a Spiradrill rig and equipment.
  4. Valid Texas commercial driver license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Highway construction experience.
  2. Experience operating around underground gas, electric, and other utilities.

Required Competencies:

  1. Advanced skill in construction drill rig operations and routine maintenance.
  2. Ability to operate other types of heavy equipment.
  3. Knowledge of construction practices and use of tools and equipment in construction.
  4. Basic mathematical skills.
  5. Advanced troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  6. Ability to comprehend and apply oral and written instructions.
  7. Ability to complete work accurately, timely, and safely under minimal supervision.
  8. Ability to work outside of normal business hours, to include evenings, weekends, and / or holidays.
  9. Ability to drive motor vehicles and mobile equipment to and on job sites throughout Texas.
  10. Ability to work outside of primary residence area throughout Texas for extended periods of time. (Hotel and per diem provided.)

Working Environment:

Work is performed primarily in outdoor environments with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, moving objects, sharp edges, and all types of weather and temperature conditions. Constant driving of large equipment and vehicles for long distances with occasional overnight stays.

Physical Demands:

  1. Frequent operation of equipment with moving parts and heavy vibration.
  2. Lifting and / or exerting of force up to 50 pounds frequently, and team lifting heavier items.
  3. Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  4. Frequent climbing, steps, ladders, and in/out/onto vehicles and equipment.
  5. Frequent bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, reaching, and crouching.
  6. Visual acuity to drive, to accurately operate heavy machinery, and to read printed and electronic documents.
  7. Hearing capacity to receive, perceive, and react to common driving and construction environment noises.
  8. Frequent driving of motor vehicles and mobile heavy equipment.
