Job Description

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Learning Source is seeking applicants for an evening PT ESL Instructor for our downtown
Greeley location. Classes are taught Monday – Thursday from 5:30-8 p.m. 10 hours of outside
class planning time is also included.
This position is 20 hours per week which includes planning time, is semester-based and
dependent on class enrollments. Responsibilities Dates for the course are from January 16 – May3, and ongoing from there.
Curriculum, training and educational resources are provided for all new instructors.
include:

• Provide direct instruction and 1:1 tutoring four evenings a week to students studying

• Implement curriculum tailored to English Language Acquisition.

• Assist adults in creating individualized education plans that meet their learning needs

• Engage adults with a range of skill levels using a variety of teaching and motivation

• Work with volunteer tutors and provide assistance with curriculum, teaching methods,

• Perform daily record-keeping and data reporting responsibilities to The Learning Source.

• Attend program team meetings as assigned by The Learning Source.

• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Experience teaching adults and learners with diverse needs.

• Experience teaching English as a Second Language.

• Knowledge of education assessment tools – CASAS experience preferred (training on

• Understanding of group instruction principles and classroom management.

• Experience working with culturally and economically diverse communities and/or

• Experience working with volunteers.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Adult Basic Education Authorization, or ability to obtain within three years.

• Knowledge of Adult Education Theory. Training on this is also provided.

• Experience using database to track student information and outcomes

• Lifelong learner and self-starter committed to continuous program improvement and

• Collaborative and professional team member.
