This School Counselor works collaboratively with families, teachers and administrators to identify students in need of support and recommends and implements interventions to support their well-being. The Counselor provides students with individual and small-group counseling to promote mental health, behavior, and social skills, and supports the school’s character education program and social-emotional learning curriculum through the teaching of whole class lessons. The Counselor also leads the school’s Advisory program.As a small school staff, we all ‘wear many hats,’ and the Counselor may also be asked to help support the supervision of classes on an ‘as needed’ basis, or to provide some academic support to students.
