The Learning Lamp is Hiring a Before/After School Director Near Johnstown, PA

We are an integral part of the community, providing much needed support for families, schools, and children.

We are looking for Full-Time Before and After School Program Director in the Johnstown Area.

What are the primary duties and responsibilities?

Program Planning and Development:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging before and after-school program curriculum.
  • Plan age-appropriate activities, including games, arts and crafts, and homework assistance.

Staff Management:

  • Train program staff.
  • Provide ongoing supervision, support, and professional development for program personnel.

Budgeting and Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring financial responsibility.
  • Allocate resources efficiently, including supplies and equipment.

Enrollment and Registration:

  • Oversee the enrollment and registration processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of program participants.

Parent and Community Engagement:

  • Establish and maintain open communication with parents and the community.
  • Organize and attend parent meetings, workshops, and events.

Collaboration with School Personnel:

  • Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other school staff.
  • Ensure alignment with the school's overall educational goals.

Policy Compliance:

  • Ensure program compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Implement health and safety protocols consistently.

Quality Improvement:

  • Evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements.
  • Seek feedback from parents, staff, and students for continuous enhancement.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Regularly communicate program updates to program manager. Prepare and submit reports on program activities, outcomes, and challenges.

Emergency Preparedness:

  • Develop and implement emergency procedures.
  • Conduct regular emergency drills to ensure staff and student preparedness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, or a Human Service related field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Willingness to go through and pass the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including: mandated reporter training, a physical, and TB test. This can typically be accomplished within a week to get you started
  • Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication and team-building abilities.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and licensing requirements.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Completed background check.
