We are currently seeking a skilled Contract Attorney to join our team and handle trademark/copyright registrations, administration, and litigation matters.
Position: Contract Attorney (Trademark/Copyright)
Location: Atlanta, GA
Type: Contract, Part-time
Pay: Negotiable
Responsibilities:
1. Manage trademark and copyright registrations, including conducting searches, preparing and filing applications, and monitoring portfolio deadlines.
2. Handle administration tasks related to trademark and copyright portfolios, such as maintaining records, responding to office actions, and coordinating with clients and authorities.
3. Assist in trademark and copyright litigation matters, including drafting legal pleadings, conducting legal research, and collaborating with external counsel.
4. Provide legal advice and counseling to clients on trademark and copyright issues, compliance, and risk management.
5. Draft and negotiate trademark and copyright agreements, such as licensing, assignment, and enforcement agreements.
6. Stay updated on changes in trademark and copyright laws and regulations, and advise clients accordingly.
7. Collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of legal services.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction(s) with good standing.
3. Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in trademark and copyright law, including registrations, administration, and litigation.
4. Strong knowledge of trademark and copyright laws, regulations, and procedures.
5. Excellent legal research and writing skills.
6. Ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively to clients and colleagues.
7. Proficiency in legal software and databases used for trademark/copyright research and filings.
8. Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
