The Law Offices of Frederick W. Nessler & Associates, LTD. has an opening for a hardworking, highly motivated team player who has Litigatrion Paralegal experience to join our firm in Springfield, Illinois.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of legal procedures and terminology related to litigation. The Litigation Paralegal will work closely with attorneys to assist in all phases of the litigation process.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses
  • Conduct legal research using various online resources and databases
  • Manage and organize case files and documents, including indexing and preparing exhibits for trial
  • Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and experts to schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances
  • Assist with trial preparation, including preparing trial notebooks and exhibits
  • Maintain communication with clients to provide case updates and gather necessary information
  • Prepare and file documents with state and federal courts, including e-filing when applicable
  • Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing attorney calendars

Qualifications:

  • Paralegal certificate-preferred but not required
  • Minimum of [1] year of experience working as a litigation paralegal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work product
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of state and federal court rules and procedures
  • Familiarity with electronic document management systems and e-discovery processes
