The JUDGE ROTENBERG CENTER (JRC) is a day and residential school located in Canton, Massachusetts licensed to serve ages five through adult. Since 1971, JRC has provided very effective education and treatment to both emotionally disturbed students with conduct, behavior, emotional, and/or psychiatric problems, as well as those with intellectual disabilities or on the autism spectrum.The Position: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant/Licensed (COTA/L)The Judge Rotenberg Center seeks a full-time COTA/L to serve a population with a wide variety of diagnoses, ranging from intellectual disability to emotional disturbance. Occupational Therapy (OT) at JRC focuses on physical, cognitive and sensory aspects of the day for increased participation and independence. Although this position is primarily based at the school building there are times when OT services may be provided at the residences. For this reason, our students work on increasing independence with daily living skills as well as typical school-based skills, commonly addressed in OT. The ideal candidate should be flexible and creative with good communication skills. Candidates should have good time management skills and work well as part of a team. Candidates should be able to receive and utilize constructive feedback. This position offers a standard schedule; hours of work are typically 8:00AM – 4:30PM Monday through Friday, with some flexibility, or as demanded by the position. JRC operates its school and residential programs year-round.Duties and Responsibilities:-Delivers a wide variety of occupational therapy services, including ADL training, fine motor skills, prevocational skills, sensory processing and visual motor skills.-Monitor and record student progress and development in relation to goals/objectives.-Implement behavior change programs as designed by BCBA.-Discuss assigned caseload with occupational therapist to determine appropriate service allocation and goals. -Provide student specific training to classroom and residential staff. -Attend IEP meetings to discuss student progress with parent/guardian.-Observe, problem solve and recommend classroom modifications.-Complete daily and quarterly documentation.-Collaborate and co-treat with teachers and other related service providers.Educational/Work History Requirements:Associates degree required.Candidates must have passed national board certification exam (COTA/L).Benefits: Salary negotiable$3000 sign-on bonusMedical, dental, paid vacation/sick time, life insurance, retirement plan, 13 paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, pre-service/ongoing training, vision care, Aflac, short/long-term disability insurance, dependent care assistance program, referral bonus, employee discount program, etc.Contact:Please send resumes and cover letters to; careers@judgerc.org and Justin Halton at j.halton@judgerc.org or fax 781-828-7547Job Type: Full-time
