Working with a food manufacturer seeking a Production Supervisor in their New Philadelphia area facility. This person will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing process within the food industry.

This includes ensuring that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely, while meeting quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

• Directly oversee production activities, including food processing, packaging, and labeling.
• Monitor production lines to ensure they are running smoothly and efficiently.
• Schedule and coordinate production runs based on demand forecasts and inventory levels.
• Assign tasks to production team members and ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
• Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure product consistency and compliance with industry standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and production areas to identify and address any quality issues.
• Train production staff on quality control procedures and best practices.
• Investigate and resolve any quality-related complaints or issues.
• Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all production staff.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Provide training to production team members on safety procedures and protocols.
• Investigate and report any accidents or incidents and implement preventive measures.
• Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.
• Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and optimize inventory levels.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Train new production team members on job duties, safety procedures, and quality standards.
• Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to production staff to enhance performance and productivity.
• Identify training needs and opportunities for skill development within the production team.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the production process.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and production metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and initiatives to enhance overall operational excellence.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• Previous experience in a supervisory role within the food manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and production management software.
• Certification in food safety (., HACCP, SQF) is a plus.
