Fisher Auto Parts is Hiring a Facility Maintenance Technician Near Mechanicsburg, PA

Description
Key Responsibilities:
Effectively installs, maintains, and repairs equipment including but not limited to: industrial machinery, plumbing, and electrical equipment.
Essential Functions:
  • Utilize analytical, problem solving, troubleshooting and repair techniques on manufacturing equipment; electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, or mechanical systems to maintain optimum equipment calibration, safe operation and reliability.
  • Install/maintain light fixtures as needed
  • Repair shelving/product racks
  • Minor equipment repair/conveyor system repair
  • Furniture assembly (occasional), painting walls
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and service covering a wide variety of equipment to maintain optimum equipment operation and reliability using proper hand and power tools.
  • General repair (drywall, sinks, etc.)
  • Snow removal
  • Travel to purchase/acquire parts needed for facility repairs
  • Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs on a wide variety of equipment, machines, and facilities as needed using proper hand and power tools.
  • Install and set up equipment for production as required.
  • Support Building Facilities Engineering as required.
  • Responsible for meeting all criteria and policies as set forth in the Company Employee Handbook, Driver's Handbook, Fleet Safety Policy, and OSHA standards;
  • Assists in special projects as requested.
Knowledge, Skills, Duties and Abilities:
  • Able to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, blue prints, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Knowledge and ability to work with 120/277/480 volt electricity;
  • Ability to perform work productively with a high quality of workmanship while able to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety;
  • Be dependable, trustworthy, display a professional attitude, and complete work within given deadlines;
  • Ability to use resourcefulness and tact in meeting new problems;
  • Ability to perform assigned work in a systematic and organized manner;
  • Detail oriented;
  • Must be able to take initiative and be self-sufficient while working independently with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in writing, orally, diagram, and/or schedule form;
  • Proficient with basic computer skills;
  • Using English, communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing;
  • Ability to work as a team member in a professional manner;
  • Customer service oriented.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent is preferred;
  • 6 months-1 year facility maintenance supervisory experience is preferred;
  • Conveyor repair and maintenance experience required;
  • Scissors lift and forklift experience preferred;
  • Must possess and maintain a valid and current driver's license;
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug test
  • Wear appropriate footwear protection and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as directed by Company policy
  • Acknowledgement of and adherence to all Company policies and procedures as contained within the Fisher Auto Parts Employee and Driver's Handbooks
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, reach, lift, carry, bend, kneel, squat, and stoop
  • Also required to climb, push/pull, balance, crouch or crawl, talk, speak, and hear
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • May be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts and/or vehicles, high/precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, various degrees of cold and heat, risk of electrical shock, items of bulky or varying weight, risk of explosion, and/or vibration. Noise level may be moderate to heavy
  • Must have considerable mobility, and be able to stand and/or sit for long durations of time
