The Jones Center is Hiring an Education Program Manager Near Springdale, AR

Job SummaryThe Education Program Manager is a member of The Jones Center (Center) Programming and Community Engagement team, and serves as the programmatic lead for the development, delivery, evaluation, and administrative coordination of early learning and school-aged programs that include (but are not limited to) youth classes & activities, day camps, early learner engagement, field trips, homeschools, and educational messaging. Ideal candidates are forward-thinking experts in learning and informal education, proactively anticipating what needs to be done and noticing opportunities and trends that inform program strategy and implementation. Community Engagement will be critical to success in the role through relationship cultivation with educators, school districts, subject matter experts, civic institutions, and community partnerships. This position plays a crucial role in revenue generation and ensuring our mission of fueling community connections is met.
Main Responsibilities
  • Develop, manage, and run revenue-generating youth education programs to foster learning and engagement for youth visitors under the direction of the Director of Programs and Community Engagement.
  • Ensure all programs are created and evaluated with a solid commitment to equitable access to diverse communities.
  • Design and create innovative programs as a part of The Center's goal to expand its learning opportunities to students, which incorporate current educational trends, leverage technological tools, and engage and excite participants.
  • Foster an environment for creativity, curiosity, and caring youth.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with local schools, social service agencies, and other institutions, nurturing new and existing partnerships to broaden the Center's reach.
  • Ensure the appropriate steps are taken to maintain the safety and health of the student's participation in the programs.
  • Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate exceptional educators, subject matter experts, camp counselors, and program facilitators.
  • Develop a field trip program around curriculum standings for formal and informal education that is compliant with relevant laws, regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Supervise, direct, and "work in the trenches" with staff and volunteers during programs.
  • Works closely with other program colleagues and marketing staff to design programs that appeal to targeted audiences and increase public awareness of Jones Center's learning resources.
  • Promotes interest in Jones Center learning programs through engagement in the community, positive partner relationships, and helping to build audiences and understanding for the opportunities available.
  • Reviews program areas and designs and implements changes or new programs to meet the community's needs.

Minimum QualificationsRequired Skills and Abilities
  • A self-motivated, collaborative style with a desire to continually learn and implement new programs to serve the community.
  • Excellent management skills
  • Effective decision-making and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software. Experience with CRM systems a plus.
  • Spanish, Marshallese, or another language proficiency a plus
  • High level of initiative and attention to detail
  • Positive attitude, impeccable work ethic, and a strong sense of urgency and commitment to results.
  • Highly organized and possesses superior time management skills. Ability to manage competing demands and priorities.
Education, Training, and Experience
  • A bachelor's degree in education or STEAM-related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • At least 3-5 years of work experience in education or community engagement in a professional setting.
  • Experience in teaching or guided facilitation required, preferably in an informal education setting with children and families.
  • Demonstrated understanding of informal learning and inquiry-based approaches to learning with the ability to communicate content and concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated program management and ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Experience working within set budgets to ensure successful and fiscally responsible program implementation.
  • Analytical thinking and the ability to analyze data are needed.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures, First Aid, CPR, and children's safety.
  • Interest and enthusiasm for working with visitors of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities and commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive learning environment
  • Fluency or proficiency in Spanish or Marshallese languages would be a helpful skill but is not required.
  • Arkansas driver's license and good driving record.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to remain stationary, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Position requires a flexible schedule, working during programs and as needed for staff support, including some evenings and weekends.
Salary: $22.00 - $23.50 per hour
