EDGE Summer Camp Opportunities!

JBNC is hiring for Assistant Directors, Lead Camp Counselors, and PACT (Junior) Counselors. Our overview is inclusive of all Summer Camp positions! Please read through all position descriptions below and select the options you would like to be considered for in your application.

Overview

Day in the Life of EDGE Summer Camp Staff:

As a trusted youth camp leader, your essential functions revolve around creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for participants. This entails actively engaging with campers in a positive manner, modeling appropriate behaviors for both staff and participants, and ensuring the physical and emotional safety of all involved. You'll implement behavior management strategies with integrity, aligning with the values of the organization, and maintain meticulous documentation of daily activities, attendance, and behavior systems. Communication plays a vital role as you liaise with the camp director, parents, and community partners as needed. Moreover, you'll infuse activities with energy and enthusiasm, motivating campers to actively participate and immerse themselves in the camp experience.

You Will Thrive at EDGE Summer Camp if:

You possess a lot of energy and passion for working with youth. You also have a great sense of humor, the ability to be flexible, a team player, and practice a good amount of patience. You are confident in your behavior management skills and have an outgoing and engaging personality. You are comfortable with reading and implementing a lesson plan. Most essentially, you are able to be a GREAT ROLE MODEL for the youth and demonstrate the willingness to learn new skills and develop as a leader, employee, and team through participation in weekly workshops.

Position Overviews

Assistant Director:

Are you ready to take your leadership skills to the next level and make a meaningful impact in your community? Join us as a Summer Camp Assistant Director and help shape unforgettable experiences for youth. In this role, you'll collaborate with our Camp Director to plan, develop, and execute daily operations, ensuring every camper has a summer to remember. 

You Will Thrive in this Position If:

You have at least one year of post-secondary work or school experience, and you're passionate about youth development and eager to make a difference. Your strong communication skills, leadership abilities, and attention to detail set you apart. With a collaborative spirit and a commitment to excellence, you're ready to lead by example and inspire greatness in others. If you're ready to take on new challenges and create positive change in your community, we want you on our team!

Lead Camp Counselor: 

Are you ready for an unforgettable summer adventure? Join us as a Lead Camp Counselor and help create memorable experiences for youth entering 1st-5th Grade OR 6th-9th Grade. As a Lead Counselor, you'll co-lead with two high school-aged junior counselors to deliver a safe, fun, and exciting summer program. From academic enrichment to outdoor games and team building, your role will be to ensure every camper has a blast while learning and growing.

*High school graduates at least one-year post-high school.

PACT Counselor/Junior Counselor:

Are you a high school student eager to make a difference and develop valuable leadership skills? Join us as a PACT Counselor and embark on a journey of personal and professional growth. As a PACT Counselor, you'll work alongside an adult Lead Counselor to create an unforgettable summer experience for youth entering 1st-5th Grade OR 6th-9th Grade. From field trips to academic enrichment, your role is to inspire, engage, and lead by example.

*Rising 10th graders to graduated 12th graders. Must have completed 9th grade, be currently enrolled in high school, or be a 2023 high school graduate.
