At The Joel Bieber Firm (JBF), our Paralegals are vital to our operations. They play a tremendous role in the success of the firm by not only supporting our attorneys, but allowing for the firm to handle the multitude of cases that come to us on a daily basis. We count on them to effectively manage their caseload, provide excellent customer service to our clients, and continuously maintain case status information in our case management system.
We are currently seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our Richmond office.
Responsibilities
- Works with Attorneys to ensure each case is progressing though the Litigation process
- Facilitates the meeting of all deadlines by keeping organized schedules and providing timely reminders
- Prepares legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, and legal memoranda
- Conducts legal research
- Prepares discovery documents, interrogatories, and responses
- Manages Attorney calendars and scheduling
- Maintains pleadings and discovery indexes
- Aids attorney with interrogatories and other discovery requests
- Gathers relevant information from a variety of sources
- Serves as liaison between trial teams and internal/external third parties
- Assists with case settlements
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 2 years of recent litigation paralegal experience required
- Experience in Personal Injury, WC, Premises, or other injury related practice areas highly preferred
- Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred
