The Jackson Laboratory is Hiring a Vice President, Global Commercial Operations Near Farmington, CT

POSITION:
Reporting to the President of The JAX Mice Clinical and Research Services (JMCRS), the Vice President, Global Commercial Operations oversees and directs business operations for continued expansion in the global market segments served by the JMCRS products and services. They work with other members of the JMCRS leadership team and JAX leadership and will lead and develop sales and support teams to achieve international JMCRS revenue objectives. These measures will ensure pathways and connections for external partners and customers to access JMCRS products and services in support of the overall mission of JAX. The Vice President leads the team to better serve customers by improving team capabilities including business partner networks and relationships aligned with the development and execution of the JMCRS strategy.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
* Provides senior management for JMCRS global commercial operations including direct sales, commercial partners, marketing, customer service, commercial operations, and technical support functions;
* Owns, leads, and manages go-to-market strategies globally, including team structures and incentive plan designs;
* Aligns strategic, technical, and tactical goals with annual financial targets and goals; leads commercial team to deliver financial results;
* Manages JMCRS Commercial partners globally (current and future distributors, propagators, OEMs, sales/marketing partners, etc.);
* Leads negotiations and partnering discussions for JMCRS commercial development opportunities;
* Prospects, identifies, and evaluates novel sales opportunities to expand in the global market and diversify revenue streams;
* Coordinates and elevates all activities to JMCRS and JAX senior leadership to enable alignment and input from senior management;
* Ensures the most beneficial deployment of organizational capital, resources, and assets;
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred (MS, MBA, PhD);
* 10-plus years of experience at the senior management level in the life sciences industry;
* 10-plus years of senior management experience (sales, marketing, business development & operations) in a life-sciences business vertical (tools, reagent provider, CRO);
* Global sales and management experience;
* Track record of identifying, negotiating, executing, and managing business deals with both multinational companies and non-US parties;
* Ability to navigate foreign cultures and challenges with discretion, poise, and professionalism; represent JAX to senior global business and political leaders;
* Experience having established and managed foreign subsidiaries, with an understanding of the legal and regulatory requirements governing operations and financial reporting;
* Deep understanding of European and Asian cultures, business management, commercial and labor laws, and the life-science regulatory landscape as would typically be acquired through 5 or more years of direct management of Asian and European businesses or employees;
* Previous P&L accountability preferred, with a sustained track record of achieving financial targets with an emphasis on sales revenues and margin expansion;
* In-depth technical knowledge of mammalian genetics, mouse experimentation, animal husbandry, cellular biology, oncology, and immunology, as would typically be acquired through direct laboratory or professional experience preferred;
* Experience managing international distributors, conducting site audits, and business reviews, and successfully achieving revenue targets;
* Experience in prospecting, identifying, and evaluating novel commercial opportunities to access new markets and diversify revenue streams;
* Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%
