Job Description:

The JAAW Group, a leading provider of innovative technology solutions, is seeking a skilled and experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and data. This position requires a minimum of 3-12 years of experience in cybersecurity. Certifications of Sec CISSP, CASP, CySA are desired.

Responsibilities:

- Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect critical systems, networks, and data from unauthorized access, vulnerabilities, and cyber threats.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify and prioritize potential security risks, evaluating system vulnerabilities and recommending enhancements to mitigate risks effectively.
- Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with industry best practices and compliance requirements.
- Monitor and analyze security events and incidents, detecting potential security breaches and taking prompt action to investigate and resolve issues.
- Perform security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing on systems and networks to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate remediation measures.
- Implement and manage security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), data loss prevention (DLP) tools, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) mechanisms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure design, development, testing, and implementation of software and infrastructure components.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies, continuously enhancing knowledge and skills to effectively protect systems and data.
- Respond to cybersecurity incidents, leading incident response activities to contain, mitigate, and recover from security breaches or attacks.
- Support compliance activities, including the assessment and validation of systems and processes against applicable security frameworks and standards.
- Provide guidance and training to employees on cybersecurity awareness, practices, and policies to promote a culture of security within the organization.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, clients, and auditors to address cybersecurity concerns, respond to inquiries, and facilitate security assessments.
- Assist in the development and implementation of disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies to ensure the availability and resilience of critical systems.
- Document cybersecurity processes, procedures, and incident response activities, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records for reference and audit purposes.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-12 years of experience working as a Cybersecurity Engineer or in a similar role.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices, including but not limited to NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and security-related regulations.
- Experience with security technologies and tools, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, antivirus, DLP, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing tools.
- Familiarity with network protocols, encryption technologies, and secure coding practices.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, databases, and cloud computing platforms from a security standpoint.
- Professional certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security , GIAC) are highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically about cybersecurity risks and solutions.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey complex cybersecurity concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Existing security clearance (Secret or higher) is preferred but not required.
