We are hiring a Speech Language Pathologist to provide primary therapy to children in center, community, and home-based settings.

As a Speech Language Pathologist in our Early Intervention Program, you will be responsible for:

  • Protecting the rights and dignities of individuals with developmental disabilities and extending these rights and dignities to family members or guardians
  • Providing service coordination activities and primary therapy in center, community, and home-based settings as well as direct/indirect treatment interventions to infants and toddlers to achieve goals in necessary areas
  • Participating in multidisciplinary evaluations to assess pre-linguistic and linguistic communication development as well as providing documentation of intervention
  • Providing individual short- or long-term direct speech/language therapy treatment when indicated through consensus of the multidisciplinary team, including the parents, and written into the child’s IFSP
  • Obtaining consultation from other members of the team in areas outside own expertise, such as social work, cognition, and motor development, in order to fully address the needs of individual children on caseload
  • Serving as classroom staff in developmental playgroups, and providing leadership in toddler groups, as directed
  • Documenting all activities in accordance to own licensure regulations and requirements necessary for billing, agency policies, or early intervention regulations
  • Performing other duties as directed by the supervisor related to the organization’s mission, goals, and operations

Education/Requirements:

  • Master’s degree required
  • ASHA CCC registration
  • Valid RI Speech/Language Therapy license
  • 2-5 years of experience providing treatment to infants and toddlers (0-3 yrs old)
  • Experience in the trans-disciplinary provision of services
  • Advanced knowledge in special treatment of PDD/autism, second language, signing, and/or experience working with various populations and ethnic backgrounds
  • Must have and maintain pediatric CPR certification
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and safe driving record
  • Access to a personal vehicle to be used as directed and when needed for the transport of clients
