Job Description:

The DAF SC2 Air and Space Domain Operations and Intelligence SME plays a key role in overseeing the application of operations and intelligence throughout SC2 focus areas. The SME will have knowledge and proficiency of intelligence production concepts, principles, practices, and responsibilities. The role includes identifying potential risks, developing protocols to reduce or manage those risks, and making recommendations that support Department of the Air Force's decision-makers' ability to act and avoid or mitigate strategic risks.

Responsibilities:

The DAF SC2 Air and Space Domain Operations and Intelligence SME identifies courses of action for protecting our information as well as collecting data from external threats. The SME is essential to strategic and operational planning and executing. Responsible for analyzing data, coordinating with other services and organizations, and determining the capabilities and vulnerabilities of an adversary.

Duties:

  • Analyzing, evaluating, and assessing strategic risks to the Department's ability to support the Joint Warfighting Concept.
  • Assessing current and future air and space power applications with implications to lethal/non-lethal as well as kinetic and non-kinetic effects.
  • Developing methodologies and implementing comprehensive plans to collect and analyze air and space power capabilities and strategic risk assessment data.
  • Delivering strategic risk findings and recommendations to DAF SC2 leadership and stakeholders.
  • Assessing strategic risks, shortfalls, and key linkages for employing capabilities in joint and coalition environments.
  • Synthesizing and incorporating strategic plans, campaigns, risk, and other applications into existing Department processes, campaigns, and plans.

Other Duties: Duties, responsibilities, and activities can change at any time based on project requirements. These changes will be communicated by your supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Clearance Required: TS/SCI eligible w/ CI polygraph. Currently possessing TS/SCI preferred.

Clearance Required: Applicants must have at least an active Secret clearance and be able to obtain a clearance at the TS/SCI level. Preference will be given to those who have an active TS/SCI clearance. Applicants must be able to submit documentation establishing U.S. Person status upon hiring. All ISA employees are required to uphold and maintain trustworthiness and suitability requirements of the U.S. federal government.


Experience Required:
3 Years minimum supporting senior headquarters positions (required); over 5 years' experience (preferred). Interservice, Combatant Command, Joint Staff, Air or Space Staff, Major Command, staff officer/planning training and experience preferred.

Education: Bachelor's degree (required) in sciences, humanities, social sciences, structured analysis, engineering or mathematics (preferred). Master's degree (preferred)

Certification: Joint Qualified Officer (JQO) and Intelligence Planner Certification Program (IPCP) or equivalent experience preferred.
