The Integral Group LLC is Hiring an IT Helpdesk Support Tech Near Atlanta, GA

The IT Technician assists in maintaining and supporting the company's information technology infrastructure. The IT Technician reports directly to the IT Director. This position includes but is not limited to troubleshooting, repairing, and configuring hardware and software systems, providing technical support to end-users, assisting in implementing and maintaining IT projects and creating and maintaining documentation. The IT Technician ensures the smooth operation of computer systems, networks, and peripherals while adhering to the company's culture, best practices, and security protocols. The IT Technician should have at least a basic knowledge of computer networking.

Technical Support:

  • Respond to and resolve technical issues identified by the IT Director.
  • Periodically check the ticketing system to confirm the resolution of tickets submitted to the help desk.
  • Diagnose hardware, software, and network problems and provide appropriate solutions or workarounds.
  • Guide users through troubleshooting steps and provide clear instructions for issue resolution.
  • Escalate complex issues to higher-level support when necessary.

Hardware and Software Maintenance:

  • Install, configure, and upgrade hardware components such as computers, printers, monitors, scanners, and other peripherals.
  • Install, update, and maintain software applications, operating systems, and security patches on desktops and laptops.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including system updates, disk cleanup, and defragmentation.
  • Perform fresh installations of operating systems.

Network Management:

  • Assist in setting up and maintaining LANs and WANs.
  • Troubleshooting network connectivity issues, including wired and wireless connections.
  • Configure routers, switches, and access points to ensure network security and performance.

Security and Compliance:

  • Understand and know IT security policies and procedures to enforce the protection of sensitive data and systems.
  • Assist in monitoring security breaches, viruses, and malware, and take appropriate action to mitigate risks.

Documentation and Administration:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
  • Maintain reports on various IT activities.

User Training:

  • Provide initial and basic training to end-users on software applications, hardware usage, security best practices, and policies.

Project Assistance:

  • Assist in the implementation and deployment of IT projects, such as software upgrades, hardware migrations, hardware refreshes, and other improvements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and MS SharePoint is a plus.
  • Strong technical knowledge of hardware, software, networking, and operating systems.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
  • Familiarity with IT security practices and protocols.
  • Great communication skills to convey technical information clearly to non-technical users.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certifications such as networking, Microsoft, or cybersecurity are advantageous.

Working Conditions:

The IT Technician will be in a corporate office environment but will provide field support as needed. Local travel and some 2–4-hour vehicle travel will be required. The role involves lifting desktop computers, monitors, printers, and other IT equipment, standing, and bending. The technician may periodically need to be available for before- or after-hours support.
