Revered and raucously enjoyed for generations, the beloved landmark opens a new chapter in 2022 as the definitive luxury destination in the Santa Ynez Valley.Role SummaryThe Inn Host provides exceptional service and a warm welcome to all on and off property guests who enter the reception area. The Inn Host will ensure all day-to-day operations are well performed with regard but not limited to, guest communication, guest arrival and departure, billing operations and experiences. Join our team and become one of the authors of our story. Inn Host position will start in January.ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities for this position are:

  • Check Guests in & out of the hotel according to Resort standards
  • Ensure all guests are escorted to their room unless declined.
  • Ensure guest name usage in all interactions
  • Coordinate and execute all guest requests and questions in a timely manner
  • Utilize training materials and maintain complete knowledge of property including but not limited to
    • All property facilities, services offered and hours of operation
    • Room types, room rates and special packages and promotions
    • Entertainment and special events scheduled on property 
    • Directions to/from property to varied locations 
    • General information, descriptions, and directions to all local services, restaurants and adventures 
  • Promote and upsell guest programming to increase guest ancillary spend 
  • Follow all Auberge Service Standards 
  • Capture and record guest data and preferences into the PMS
  • Answer department telephones within three rings, using correct greeting and telephone etiquette
  • Assist Pre-Arrival Curator with last minute dining, spa and experience bookings for guests
  • Handle guest complaints or problems immediately, ensuring guest satisfaction. Communicate all of the above to management to ensure communication to all necessary departments.
  • Communicate with all other hotel departments as necessary.
  • Maintain the assigned Bank and ensure accuracy of contracted cash. Keep Bank secure at all times.
  • Access all functions of the computer system(s) according to established procedures and standards.
  • Set up a work station with necessary supplies; maintain cleanliness throughout the shift. Communicate shortages to Management.
  • Assist and ensure effective guest incident resolution. Work closely with fellow guest service associates and other departments to resolve any challenges; ensure follow-through and exceed guest expectations, surprising and delighting guests whenever possible. 
Required Qualifications
  • A genuine affinity for interacting with guests and team members alike 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time seamlessly including operating computer systems, internal guest requests and outgoing guest communication 
  • Ability to work cohesively with other departments and individuals as part of a team
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems as they arise
  • Ability to be a clear thinker and remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and designated resort data.
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Able to work on a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years as a Front Desk or Guest Services associate 
  • Proficiency in Gmail and G-Suite
  • Proficiency in Property Management Systems 

 $22.00/Hour
