Strategic Communications
Reports to: Senior Director, Strategic Communications
Location: Washington, D.C. (3 days in office & 2 days remote each week)
Internship dates: May 27th, 2024 - August 9th, 2024
Status: Full-Time; Non-Exempt
Salary: $20/hour not to exceed 40 hours/week
Position Summary
The Hub is accepting applications for a Strategic Communications Intern to support The Hub’s various campaigns and initiatives, to support the creation of communications materials, as well as learn the communications fundamentals of effective political advocacy. We are looking for someone who gets excited about landing coverage with traditional news media and maximizing the impact of our supported campaigns by improving the ways we reach our target audiences with messages that change minds.The right candidate will have some exposure to communications and be ready to jump in, try new tactics, and learn from their successes as well as their mistakes. The Strategic Communications Team supports The Hub campaigns by integrating the various elements of the organization to ensure our messaging is supported by data and timely to the most critical narratives driving the day. Our campaigns leverage a mix of grassroots organizing, paid media, and earned media tactics to advance the goals of The Hub and its allies. This is a paid position.
