Body Shop Parts Department Associate Job Summary:

As an Auto Body Shop Parts Department Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting the repair and restoration of vehicles by managing the inventory and distribution of parts and supplies. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and knowledge of automotive parts will contribute to the efficiency and success of the auto body shop operations.

Body Shop Parts Department Associate Responsibilities:

  • Source automotive parts and accessories from suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors.
  • Place orders for parts based on repair estimates, technician requests, and inventory levels.
  • Receive incoming shipments of parts, verify accuracy, and inspect for damage or defects.
  • Organize and maintain inventory levels, including shelving, labeling, and tracking stock movements.
  • Update electronic inventory systems or databases to reflect incoming and outgoing parts accurately.
  • Assist technicians in identifying and locating specific parts needed for vehicle repairs.
  • Assist in the management of special order parts, including tracking delivery timelines and communicating updates to relevant parties.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as the service and repair team, to ensure seamless integration of parts into the repair process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized parts department area, including disposal of packaging materials and recycling of waste products.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling hazardous materials or heavy equipment.

Body Shop Parts Department Associate Requirements:

  • Previous experience in automotive parts management, inventory control, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of automotive parts terminology, identification, and compatibility.
  • Familiarity with electronic inventory systems or databases for tracking parts and supplies.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with suppliers, technicians, and other team members.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy parts and supplies.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education required; additional training or certification in automotive parts management is a plus.

Body Shop Parts Department Associate Pay starts at $15/hour
