Job Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic III is responsible for preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance of hospital facilities, physical plant equipment/systems, and life safety equipment/systems. Additionally, he/she maintains overall aesthetics/cosmetic appearance of all hospital facilities and physical plant equipment except that which is the responsibility of Environmental Services.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education: High School education/ GED
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Operates both hand and power tools.
Troubleshoots and repaired circuits
Repairs wiring and conduit
Drills holes in walls for conduit
Tests, repairs, and/ or installs fire alarm systems and nurse call systems
Repairs microwave ovens, repairs replace and or installs light fixtures and repairs lamps.
Safely uses scaffolding and ladders
Solders wires and circuit cards
Repairs motors and machinery
Samples and / or replaced oil in transformers
Battery maintenance and replacement
Operates and tests emergency generators
Properly documents all maintenance actions
Safely handles chemicals
Reads and understands blueprints and tech manuals.
