Bronx Program Admissions Coordinator

Background

The Position

HOPE is seeking a Bronx Program Admissions Coordinator who will execute the admissions process for our Bronx-based programs. The position reports to the Director of Bronx Programs. This is a hybrid position, working mainly out of HOPE’s Bronx location at 1360 Garrison Ave, a minimum of three times weekly. The position will facilitate presentations to groups of all sizes and have an outcomes-focus.

Responsibilities

Admissions

  • Act as the initial point of contact for new candidates interested in the programs offered.

  • Communicate continuously to referral partners regarding the status of their referrals.

  • Implement the admissions and assessment process for all Bronx Programs 

    • Guide candidates through all documentation, including applications

    • Implement program tryouts and other assessment tools as needed

  • Support alignment of Brooklyn and Bronx program admissions process.

Assessment and Selection

  • Complete intakes on an ongoing basis to ensure processing of candidates.

  • Review Student Readiness Assessments and escalate cases as needed to the Director of Bronx Programs.

  • Inform candidates of their admissions decision.

  • Execute daily admission decisions and escalate cases to the Director of Bronx Programs.

Student Engagement & Programmatic

  • Support Communicate student observations and concerns with other staff members, including Work Readiness Instructors.
  • Outreach to candidates to increase likelihood of attending the first day of classes.

  • Update and identify organizations as referral resources for students.

  • Refer students to outside organizations when appropriate.

  • Execute special assignments, including reports, designated by the Director of Bronx Programs.

  • Support Brooklyn admissions process during heavy recruitment seasons.

  • Support in the organization and preparation of completion packages for graduate participants as needed.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Google suite experience.

  • SalesForce experience.

  • Ability to form relationships and work with various types of people.

  • Self directed and organized.

Salary/Benefits

The salary range is $50,000-$55,000 is dependent upon experience. HOPE provides a full package of benefits including healthcare and dental insurance, retirement plan, competitive vacation (plus half-day Fridays during summer which is equal to 7.5 additional vacation days, and 12 paid holidays.
