Job SummaryApplies engineering coursework to support the development and execution of a variety of existing and new mechanicalengineering projects.Essential Job Functions • Supports the design of parts and mechanisms for new and existing product development initiatives• Details part drawings• Supports Engineering Change Request process• Creates mechanical designs using CAD software• Designs tooling and fixtures to support the test of products• With direction, works with Quality and Manufacturing staff to support the resolution of part quality issues• Supports the test of new and existing products with test plans and occasional hands-on testing• Uses calipers, measuring devices, and test equipment to perform work• Qualifies parts and subsystems using measuring devices• Presentation of Assigned Project at end-of-term to management.* This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties orresponsibilities that are required of the employee. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change or new onesmay be assigned at any time with or without notice.Education & ExperienceStudent in Mechanical Engineering; junior level or higher. 3.0 GPA minimum.Competencies – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities• Solidworks CAD experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing preferred• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools• Strong mechanical, analytical, and problem solving skills• Good fundamental knowledge of mechanical engineering design theory and practice• Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written and graphical)• Willingness to work in all areas assigned as deemed necessary for the success of the team• Ideally must be able to work a minimum of two internships• Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time.• Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; maintains a clean and organized work environment.• Quantity - Meets productivity standards; completes work in timely manner; strives to increase productivity.• Safety - Observes all safety procedures and policies; reports potentially unsafe conditions to supervisor; uses equipment andmaterials properly.
